Artist on show

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the exhibition is currently closed.

Niki de Saint Phalle (1935-2002) is one of the most esteemed artists of the 20th century.
It is also one of the most unclassifiable. Through this exhibition, the Musée du Touquet-Paris-Plage opens the doors of its imagination to you. More than 40 works offer a panorama of his colorful, free and engaged universe.
The thematic route reveals the most emblematic facets of Niki de Saint Phalle's art. The Shoots, subversive performances, but also the incredible Jardin des Tarots show his overflowing ingenuity. Women of disproportionate proportions, her Nanas, in bright colors and generous shapes, call out to the visitor. Imposing, they invite us to question the place of women and their representation in society. The exhibition also shows a less well-known aspect of the artist's work: the design of original furniture elements, bringing art into the home.
After the Grand Palais (2014-2015) and the BAM - Musée des Beaux-Arts de Mons (2018-2019), the Musée du Touquet-Paris-Plage presents Niki de Saint Phalle, an accessible, joyful and uninhibited art!
